The Proposal, and Mrs. Congeniality both of which star Sandra Bullock have brought in over 100 million in ticket sales.
The even more amazing thing is that even during this recession, and the Christmas shopping season approaching Thanksgiving weekend brought in $278 million, beating a record for the period set in 2000.
What I found interesting about all this was that I went this weekend to see New Moon for the second time, and to my surprise New Moon shows were still sold out. I knew how much I loved it , but it really was a surprise to me that even after a week of being out it would still sell out.
Great post. I saw both movies. I saw New Moon four times, and the Blind Side once. What I was surprised about was that the Blind Side was selling out too, and that there were lines to get into the theater to see it. It was a great movie.
ReplyDeleteBlind Side seems like an amazing story, but the movie seems like it wouldn't do the story justice to me. But, until I see it I can't validate that so I'll have to find out. I have a feeling that it would've been a better documentary than regular screen play. The success of New Moon continues to amaze me, I wonder what makes everyone get so into it?
